ENTREPRENEURSHIP 2.0

Stacy M. Igel began her career at the ripe old age of 4, outfitting her pre–K classmates and staging fashion shows from her school’s cafeteria. She honed her skills a bit further while designing for mega-brand Izod and working closely with innovative designers and icons such as Elie Tahari, Zandra Rhodes and Elsa Klensch. Recognizing the need for an edgy yet wearable, stylish yet casually classic brand in the contemporary marketplace, Ms. Igel founded Boy Meets Girl®. The collection of tops, tunics, dresses, skirts, jumpers, sweaters, tracksuits, hoodies, tees, outerwear and accessories has appeared on the racks of countless specialty and department stores worldwide including Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Harvey Nichols, Saks, Intuition, Big Drop, Fred Segal and Lisa Kline, and has graced the pages of most major fashion publications including In Style, Us Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Lucky, People, Teen Vogue, Seventeen, the New York Times, and WWD. If you're a fan of Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Beverly Hills 90210, America's Next Top Model and The City (and who isn’t?), you’ve probably seen the collection before. The same is true if you follow the every move of Eva Mendes, Rachel Bilson, Taylor Momsen, Anne Hathaway, Nina Dobrev, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rosario Dawson, Kristen Bell, Michelle Williams, Ali Larter, Hillary Duff, Rose McGowan, Zooey Deschanel and Lindsay Lohan.[1] Boy Meets Girl® has received several design awards and honors, and the brand was recently chosen as the official staff uniform for the exclusive members-only club, The SoHo House. In addition to founding Boy Meets Girl®, Ms. Igel has consulted for various celebrities, artists, entertainers and brands looking to leverage her fashion expertise and rolodex. She has several projects in development, including hosting a weekly online style show and developing a reality series for a major television network. Ms. Igel has been a featured style expert and blogger for Envite.com and a frequent panelist at the Learning Annex. She has personal shopped and styled for her celebrity clientele around the world, and she continues to mentor young designers and advocate for various causes including teaming up with Bloomingdales and teen celebrity Sammi Hanratty to fight bullying in schools (http://www.schoolclimate.org/bullybust/supporters.php), collaborating with Urban Outfitters to raise awareness for breast cancer in young women (http://www.youngsurvival.org/; www.kristenmartinez.com ), and promoting ethical fashion (i.e., sustainable manufacturing practices, living wages for factory workers, etc.). Today, Ms. Igel is the Creative Director and Chief Brand Ambassador of Boy Meets Girl®.

Abby Gardner (YM, Fashionista.com, Glo.com), described Ms. Igel this way: “She is definitely a force of nature and one whose talent and drive I admire tremendously. What I love so much about Stacy is that, despite all her success, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty – in the course of a single day she’ll take on the role of accountant, salesgirl, PR guru, merchandiser, company psychiatrist and -- of course -- designer. That's how much she believes in her work. Basically, Stacy is the Boy Meets Girl® brand all rolled up into one dynamic little package.”

[1] Note, however, that Ms. Igel in no way promotes the following “of every move” of the aforementioned celebrities.
