As mentioned by The New York Times, Stacy Igel, our founder and creative director, has introduced our latest project: a collaboration with the famous 1990s model Veronica Webb entitled “Supermodel.” Most recently known for our 80s throwback collab with Care Bears at colette in Paris, we're back with this BOY MEETS GIRL® BLACK LABEL x Veronica Webb collection.

Stacy Igel, Boy Meets Girl Founder and Creative Director said she is excited for this collaboration. “The Supermodel era of the 1990s was really a modern Golden Age of Fashion.  Personally, I was working for Elsa Klensch in the summer of 1998 and covered the runways with her, so I was able to watch the Supermodels own the runway up close and personally. Veronica Webb was the first black Supermodel with a major cosmetic deal.  Sophie Elgort was a young kid playing in her father Arthur Elgort’s studio during that time period. During the shoot shot at Arthur’s studio, we actually looked up old images of Veronica shot by Arthur. It was very nostalgic and cool.”

“I think it’s about the 1990s,” said Ms. Webb. Our line features images of her channeling the ’90s on black athleisure wear.

According to the The New York Times, "The photos were taken by Sophie Elgort, daughter of the 1990s photographer Arthur Elgort, whom Ms. Webb remembered as a child running around her father’s Vogue shoots."
