Muse of the Week: Emily June
Emily June is a Beauty Vlogger and Makeup Artist based in New York City. She has been involved in the beauty industry since 2010 when she started uploading beauty, fashion, and hair tutorials on YouTube from her hometown in Long Island. After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles to study Beauty Industry Merchandising and Marketing at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She continued her education at Make-up Designory in New York City and just recently graduated. Emily is signed to YouTube's #1 beauty & fashion network StyleHaul, and has worked with companies in the past including Neutrogena, Maybelline, Vidal Sassoon, Origins, Nine West, Smashbox, American Idol, Macy's, and more.
I met Emily four years ago when I partnered with a company formerly called Lockerz founded by Kathy Savitt (I cannot believe this was four years ago). I was tapped as the chief fashion editor and stylist as covered here in WWD. Emily covered the Boy Meets Girl NYFW show as seen below in her YouTube video. I loved working with all the You Tubers on the style council and have stayed in touch with many of them including Emily so featuring her this week as our muse of the week makes me so excited. Thank you Emily for being our Muse of the Week. Learn even more about Emily below in my Q&A interview xx Stacy:
1. Are you a Subway or Car (via, uber, lyft or other (bus/walk /etc) girl?
I'm 100% an Uber girl! I take the subway more often but I'll always be an Uber girl.
2. Favorite spot to be creative?
Anywhere in New York City. I'm always amazed by the different types of people/talents/styles that I get to see every day and its so inspiring.
3. Causes you advocate for?
Anti bullying. I was bullied when I was younger and still to this day online. I talk about bullying sometimes on my YouTube Channel in hopes that it can help anyone going through what I went through.
4. Favorite quote?
This is probably the most basic answer but its the first thing that comes to my mind. "Everything happens for a reason". I tell myself this ALL the time when something doesn't go as planned.
5. Tell us about your last moment you shared with someone?
I was in the Adidas Store in Soho and I was stopped by a girl who watches my videos who just moved to New York from Egypt! It was so crazy how we were in the same place at the same time. She was so excited and so sweet, and meeting new people is probably the most rewarding part of what I do. I wasn't having the best day and it instantly put me in the best mood.
