What (or who) inspires you?
"I'm incredibly inspired by individuals who take life by the horns and pursue their dreams despite the fear, stress, and doubt that comes with starting something of your own. In the fashion/influencer space, I really look up to Aimee Song, Chriselle Lim and Jenn Im because of the brands they were able to create from their blogs and Youtube channels. They now have clothing lines, production companies, and entire communities that they've built from being creative and authentic with their viewers."
Causes you advocate for?
"In college, I was a Resident Advisor and underwent a lot of training on mental health. I became an advocate knowing that so many college students experienced mental health issues, but really understood the impact when I sought on-campus therapy for myself. I sought therapy because I felt like I was drowning and almost paralyzed from doing anything because I didn't know how to manage the anxiety and depression in a healthy way. Since then, I've learned so much about myself, life, and how to function in a healthy way. At the end of the day-it boiled down to being more forgiving on myself and to practice some much needed self-love. My hope is that I can use my platform(s) to talk about those very real, and at times, excruciating struggles life throws at us so that we can support each other in ultimately pursuing our biggest dreams."
Where is your favorite place to be creative?
"I don't necessarily have a specific location, but anywhere that I am with hard working, like-minded individuals always seems to get my creative juices flowing. I meet with my business partner/photographer/friend, Nichanh, twice a week and find that being with her working really opens up my mind and helps me be more productive."
